A follow-up study of war neuroses.Follow-up Status.

A follow-up study of war neuroses.: Follow-up Status. At follow-up, usually in the fifth or sixth year after breakdown, the men in the clinical sample were distributed widely over the spectrum of psychiatric illness, but with no concentration in the region of severe disability. The psychoneurotic disorder is not static, and for the most part the follow-up period was one of further improvement and consolidation of earlier gains. The group is large enough to cover a wide range of disability at follow-up, and only its distribution over that range will suffice as a precise description of its status, but in the region of severe disability one finds only about 8 percent. Abstract
