A history of neurology.Pain in neurology, ancient and modern.

A history of neurology.: Pain in neurology, ancient and modern. Disease is a state of suffering, discomfort (dis-ease), or pain associated with disordered function. The latter is accessible to objective examination; it represents the physiopathologic constituent of disease and can be studied in terms of the various vital manifestations we are allowed to correlate with the various organs and the lesions affecting them, both of them being the anatomical and pathological equipments of that whole of natural phenomena, which we call a disease. There is associated with this objective condition the state of discomfort or pain as a subjective experience, although the structures and mechanisms underlying this experience may remain open to objective description and analysis.
