A practitioner's guide to telemental health: How to conduct legal, ethical, and evidence-based... The goal of most telemental health (TMH) services is to approximate the same best practices as in-office clinical care. In general, the same liabilities, risks, and ethical issues that are encountered during conventional in-office practice also apply to TMH. There are, however, several important and special considerations when engaging in TMH. These considerations generally center around two characteristics of TMH: geographical distance from the location of the client/patient and use of technology as the medium of service provision. These differences introduce additional risks and considerations that extend beyond those of conventional in-person services. This chapter provides the “need to know” information regarding legal, regulatory, ethical, liability, and related training issues in TMH practice. This chapter discusses the risks associated with providing TMH care. (PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2022 APA, all rights reserved) http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png

Abstract

(PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2022 APA, all rights reserved)
