The teacher's mission is like that of Christ, who said of himself, "I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." Her work is to lead boys and girls into a life that is large, full, stimulating, and satisfying. To be a competent leader, she must herself have come into possession of the knowledge, skills, interests, appreciations, and ideals that make life most worth living. What she is, knows, thinks, or does either attracts or repels children. The force in a teaching force is the force of attraction. (PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2022 APA, all rights reserved)
