This chapter continues the discussion of spiritistic phenomena, particularly telepathy, by approaching the domain of ascertained facts. The author considers experimental telepathy and the latency of telepathic impressions with cases and biblical examples. He also considers Mr. Savage's test case (see record 2008-12585-004) and the mother's last message to her son as seen through the son's message to the psychic. The author also describes the unscientific attitude of spiritists and the alleged "simplicity" of the the spiritistic hypothesis: it saves thinking, but it is reasoning in a circle. The question the author is concerned with is not "why cannot spirits communicate with the living?" but rather, "do they so communicate?" The evidence is against the spiritistic hypothesis.
