Here, first of all, we are talking about the lawfulness of humanitarian intervention. There is an opinion in international law which has been maintained for a long period of time. According to this opinion, the use of armed force by a State or a group of States is justified to rescue their citizens who are present in a foreign territory or to stop mass and grave violations of human rights occurring elsewhere for political, racial, religious or other reasons.
