Republic of Latvia Materials on International Law 2020 Edited by Paula Šimkuse * [Editorial Notes: 1. The Republic of Latvia Materials on International Law 20 rlmil2020 20 ( ) mostly concern opinions of Latvian institutions and officials, as well as judgments by the Constitutional Court and the Supreme Court. Statements by officials and in particular the decisions of the courts have occasionally been edited to ensure brevity, focus, and consistency. 2. Several abbreviations are used throughout the rlmil2020 , namely ECtHR – European Court of Human Rights; Saeima – Parliament of the Republic of Latvia; Satversme – the Constitution of the Republic of Latvia. 3. rlmil2020 includes court decisions translated by the author, so tr - ansla tions should not be regarded as official and should be used for informa - tion purposes only.
