Sometimes, they are even intellectually cutting-edge, offering original studies that zero in on subtle contours in the scholarly landscape and mark out hollows yet unmapped. They can scrutinize projects in process and identify multiple crossroads of research and activism. Translation Studies, perhaps more than most cross-disciplinary research areas, combines research and practice. Both volumes reviewed here are sensitive to the mutually enriching contributions and distinctive perspectives that translation researchers and translators make to this proliferating field.
