Aware as we are of the challenges that humanityfaces today, we believe it is necessary to pool the efforts of all people of goodwill toact towards the sustainable development of the world – as a safe place to live forthe present and future generations. Moreover, we are convinced that only accuratetheories on the environmental crisis will help us develop practical strategies effectivein overcoming the threats. The necessary condition for the success of this enterprise is,then, consistent cooperation based on answers to the following questions. Where arewe? What threats are we facing? How can we overcome the adverse megatrends?
