Mediation, Conciliation And Arbitration In Industrial Matters

Mediation, Conciliation And Arbitration In Industrial Matters MEDIATION, CONCILIATION AND ARBITRATION IN INDUSTRIAL MATTERS The first Luncheon Meeting of the 1972/73 session was held at the Connaught Rooms, London, on Thursday, 26th October, when the following address was presented by Mr J. S. Wordie, Barrister-at-Law. The President, Mr Clifford A. L. Clark, was in the Chair. It is with very considerable diffidence that I rise to address members of this Institute of Arbitrators and their guests on a subject about which they must inevitably, I think, possess a fair degree of expert knowledge. However, your President asked me some considerable time agohe puts it at a yearif I would be prepared to talk on the subject of conciliation, mediation and arb itration in industrial matters and I expressed my willingness, never for a moment dreaming that, nearly a year later and at a time when the first ever Industrial Relations Act had been put on the Statute Book, he would remember our conversation at the Baltic and extend a formal invitation to me. I thank him for this opportunity to say a few words about an area of industrial peace-making which has for some time been of importance and which is likely to become increasingly important http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Asian International Arbitration Journal Kluwer Law International
