THE INTERNATIONAL ARBITRATION COMMITTEE Following the reorganisation of the Council and the Committees, it is proposed to publish a small article on the attitude of the new Committees and their objectives. The following article is contributed by Mr. Cedric Barclay, Chairman of the International Arbitration Committee and a Past President of the Institute. T t is conceded generally that until 1968 our interest in International Arbitration *- matters could euphemistically and at its highest be described as marginal. The more adventurous like Niel Pearson, did on occasion, safari into the Highlands of Ethiopia or of Kenya, and Ronald Ward once took a party to Rheims or Epernay to adjudicate on the dew point of the champagne vaults. Our Editor volunteered to represent us in Bangkok ; others have recently been involved in disputes with the Plate-layers on the railroad to Medina, yet until Venice in 1969, we hid behind fog in the Channel whenever it conveniently isolated the Continent. In the Spring of 1970 the Members went on a Motor Rally to a Conference at Le Touquet, from which the participants returned sporting the Institute's first car badge.
