Abstract

This chapter provides a detailed description of the direct analytic session with a man diagnosed with schizophrenia, paranoid type. Transcripts of sessions are presented in which it can be seen that the patient was alternately treated with ridicule and respect, bullied and supported, rejected and accepted, criticized and praised.
