[Behavior analysts are ethically responsible for selecting and implementing interventions that are conceptually aligned with behavior analytic principles and have sufficient scientific evidence. After a clinician develops client goals based on strengths and needs, they must select the best fit intervention to facilitate the client in mastering the goals. Behavior analyst selects not only an intervention but also among the various procedural variations presented in the literature. In this chapter, we discuss methods and guidelines in selecting an intervention followed by the use of assessment-based instruction to facilitate decision-making in selecting specific procedures.]
