Healthcare sector, sustainable environment, and agriculture are some of the fields where the application of RDT has been profound. In the healthcare sector, RDT plays a very important role in development of biopharmaceuticals, vaccines, gene therapy, molecular diagnostics, etc. In the environmental sector, several bioremediation techniques and bioindicators have been developed using RDT. A major contribution of RDT in the agricultural sciences has been nutritional enhancement, tolerant crops and better yield of crops.
