[The discussion so far has revealed that although hybrid technology is useful, it is not easy to introduce because it receives lower evaluation than the existing one, i.e., hand drawing. Therefore, it has shown that management of hybrid technology at the organizational level is important. In this chapter and Chap. 7, actual cases of utilization of hybrid technology will be introduced. This chapter will analyze cases of insourcing of new technology and Chap. 7 analyzes cases of outsourcing of new technology. By comparing the development of hybrid technology of those two types of cases, methods of management will be explored. In Sect. 1, I present the analytical framework, which consists of three stages: (1) establishment of a new technology division, (2) establishment of management of the division, and (3) establishment of the collaboration between new and other divisions. Section 2 explores the differences between hybrid technologies used in 3DCG and hand drawing. Section 3, based on the analytical framework, reveals corporate behaviors for development of hybrid products. Section 4 shows the important roles that “adaptive engineers” and managers of the new technology division play in hybrid product development.]
