Abstract

[This chapter provides an overall assessment of gendered digital cultures in post-reform China. Based on a discussion of deeply held socio-political issues in Chinese society, this chapter explains how imbalanced gender power relations between Chinese women and men are established in Chinese society and how the gender power relations intersect with Chinese Internet users’ civic engagement with public affairs.
