[This chapter summarizes the main findings of the book. It describes possible geoinformatics applications that may be used to extend water erosionErosion studies beyond soil lossSoil loss assessments, to comprehensive soil healthSoil health scoring, and the provision of various ecosystem servicesEcosystem Services (ES). The chapter is founded on the knowledge framework famously described by the former US Secretary of State Donald Rumsfeld under the title “known knownsKnown knowns”. This framework is interpreted in this book to include the following techniques: (1) the commonly available geoinformatics applications that each soil conservationalist can apply to the catchmentCatchment she is responsible for; (2) the more complex methods that are available in the scientific literature, but less commonly used, and deserve to be made known more widely; (3) future directions of current research that should be further developed and applied, in the short term; and (4) the long-term research that represents our future breakthroughs in water erosionErosion geoinformatics.]
