[After Sun Yat-sen organized the Society for China’s Regeneration and launched the first Guangzhou Uprising, he was forced into exile. He traveled to many parts of the world, strenuously striving for the support of the Chinese revolution from foreign powers. He understood the feeble revolutionary forces could not confront the powers’ influence in China. Therefore, he did not target fight against imperialists as his action program, though his purpose in leading the revolution was to salvage national crisis and resist the powers’ aggression. His primary aim was to reform the national politics through revolution.
