[Here, the use of canonical engineering dynamics tools for the analysis of brain waves measured via electroencephalography is introduced and motivated. A general overview of cognitive biomarkers is taken, leading to a literature review of existing methods for analyzing the spatio-temporal dynamics of brain waves. From the existing body of work, a novel approach to modeling these dynamics is presented which leads to a general hypothesis the work seeks to address.]
