A Psychobiography of Viktor E. FranklPositive Psychology 2.0 of Paul Wong

A Psychobiography of Viktor E. Frankl: Positive Psychology 2.0 of Paul Wong [This chapter presents Wong’s (2011, 2019, 2020a, b) theory of PP2.0. It emphasizes the need to increase the positives and manage the negatives in order to improve well-being and reduce mental illnesses (Wong 2011). Compared to classical positive psychology, PP2.0 emphasizes the need to notice and synthesize not just positive, but also negative outcomes (Wong 2019, 2020a, b). It takes a stance on the imperative of virtues as well as shifts the focus from individual happiness and success to a meaning-centred approach to making life better for all people (Wong 2011). There are four tenets of PP2.0: virtues, meaning, resilience and well-being. Because of the focus of this study and its space limitations, the researchers analyse selected aspects, namely the virtues of transcendence and the structure of meaning in the life of Viktor Frankl only. These two tenets are presented below.] http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png

Abstract

[This chapter presents Wong’s (2011, 2019, 2020a, b) theory of PP2.0. These two tenets are presented below.]
