Abstract

[Nobody remembers when one was born. Parents have to tell about the birthday, or the birth certificate must supply the information. In the “Familien-Stammbuch” (official family record) of Vati and Mutti1 I read: Bernhard Otto Klaus Wunderlich, born May 28, 1931. The citizenship of Vati was given as “preußisch” (Prussian). Since I want to rely in this autobiography as much as possible on my memory and notes, not on stories circulating in the family, I have little to tell about the first three years of my life. I just don’t remember much (anything?). Even my first picture which was in Vati and Mutti’s collection, I do not remember. It is shown as Figure 1.]
