[The Ingle gym produced many boxers admirable in different ways. Brian Anderson’s post-career life was more noteworthy than his boxing career as he became Britain’s second black prison governor. Another just short of world class was Ryan Rhodes, who today is one of Sheffield’s most prominent boxing trainers. This chapter also profiles several of the other characters who have passed through the gym, as well as others from outside, such as Reagan Denton, who used the lessons learned from past misdemeanours to found a community hub that provides help and direction to hundreds; Curtis Woodhouse, who defied all predictions by becoming the first former Premier League footballer to become a British champion boxer; and Lewis Taylor, the good-looking lad who gave up boxing for a new career as a model.]
