Chapter Adding Capabilities to the Software Process Model The objective of this book is to provide a software process model that incorporates the capabilities of the people involved in the software process. To this end, our starting point were capabilities validated within the framework of the Assessment Centre Method (ACM), used in the area of human resources selection, which we adapted for software development. The incorporation of human capabilities into a software process involves explicitly performing a range of activities related, on the one hand, to evaluating the capabilities of the organisation's members, and, on the other, to assigning people to roles depending on their capabilities and the capabilities required to play each role. Before describing these activities in depth, we present an overview of the activities, as well as the elements they include, laying the emphasis on the key element: capabilities. 6.1.
