Abstract

[Imaging is important for the diagnosis, prognosis, and follow-up of osteoarthritis (OA). The radiological evaluation of OA mainly consists of radiography, CT and MRI. Radiography and CT are useful tools for depicting bone shape, alignment, and osteophytes. Typical findings of OA are joint space narrowing, subchondral sclerosis, and subchondral bone cyst in the area under pressure and osteophytes in the area without pressure. On the other hand, osteoporosis, bony erosion, and large amounts of joint effusion are not the typical findings of OA.]
