[Surgical treatment of complex malignancies is the primary focus of a surgical oncologist’s practice. Complex general surgical oncology fellowship differs from other surgical subspecialty trainings in that postgraduate education typically consists of a 2-year, oncology-focused surgical fellowship at an ACGME-accredited program.
