Shapiro Simon Fraser University This bibliography lists many of the publications of authors who have com- mented upon and/or elaborated upon Alderson’s contributions to marketing thought, or who have built upon his ideas in making their own theoretical contributions to marketing. Numerous readings books in marketing, retailing, advertising and other topics from the 1940s to the present were consulted. In addition, the indices of a large number of marketing textbooks published from the 1940s to the present were searched for the Alderson name. Non-American Marketing Association sponsored Conference Proceedings were also examined. The references included here represent a solid sample of what many authors have discussed in their textbooks or in articles on Alderson. However, it would be an almost impossible task to look at every edition of every marketing textbook published since the 1940s to see if the authors had discussed Alderson. Such a task would be formidable especially for textbooks that were published on other continents or languages other than
