[I learned what is important for a successful career in engineering through my industry experience. While at Marquette University, my mission has been to help students develop the skills and obtain the knowledge needed for professional engineering practice. It is not enough to know how to solve differential equations or construct free body diagrams or analyze electrical circuits. Students must be critical thinkers and problem solvers who are able to apply what they learned in the classroom to the solution of real-world problems and recognize when to use the appropriate tools and analytical methods. In all of my courses, I strive to provide students with practical engineering experience and insight into what it will be like to work as an engineer.]
