[Family businesses often outperform nonfamily businesses. This is true for a number of reasons. One of the primary sources of success for business-owning families is their focus on ensuring continuity of both the business and the family. Longevity is typically foremost in the minds of family business owners, and, unlike many of their competitors in non-family businesses, they think about long-term viability and continued family engagement.
