Abstract
[The Regional Government of Andalusia has been implementing a gender responsive budgeting experience over the last decade, convinced that equality between women and men is an essential requirement for increased economic growth, efficiency and welfare. This approach has led to a public budget with enough capacity not only for reorienting regional policies towards gender equality but also for generating a cultural change within the regional administration. The implementation of GRB audits is the latest development and aims to assess the benefits and results obtained by this initiative. This paper describes and analyses the different stages of this gender budgeting process in the Andalusian administration as well as its main challenges in the near future.]
