[Most studies of gun-related violence and homicides in the Caribbean have focused on highest rates within and across nations, with a few comparing and contrasting high and low rates. No studies have clearly focused on nations with midrange levels of those problems. Thus, we use the Peaceology approach developed by our lead author to advance conceptual and methodological justifications to begin a tradition focusing on midrange problem areas. Using the example of Dominica, we simultaneously analyze high, midrange and low sub-national spaces. We introduce the concept of nonespots, and advance research on coldspots, warmspots and hotspots. We outline theoretical, methodological, policy and programmatic implications and provide seven key prevention tips.]
