ICT in Education and Implications for the Belt and Road Initiative: ICT in Education in China [China has the largest population in the world, and although still a developing country, has built up a worldwide largest education system covering all types of education at all levels, such as basic education, vocational education, higher education and continuing education. The system has benefited about 316 million people among the total population of 1354 million in mainland China. Since 1990s, a series of national key projects and policies of ICT in education have been implemented, laying a solid foundation for its sustainable development. By new, the system of ICT in education has been constructed to match the objectives of education modernization, aiming at providing everyone with quality digital learning resources, creating an ICT-based public service system to support life-long learning, and expanding the coverage of the broadband internet connections to all schools and universities. ICT-based educational management and the infusion of ICT in education will be greatly improved.
