[The Sagre, food and wine Italian traditional festivals, represent occasions for collective socialization, events for the mobilization of the masses in order to recognize one’s own social identity. Almost all of them have a very ancient sacred origin, as they were held in conjunction with patronal feasts or to commemorate a saint particularly venerated in the area where they were held or to remember historical events. Famous were those that took place in the Venice in the 1700s during the summer. Contemporary sagre have lost this connotation to become celebrations of typical products and preparations as well as the promotion of sustainable tourism at the local level.]
