The Social Bond
[This chapter investigates to what extent our economic measures characterise the current state of society and, above all, if they allow us to form an opinion on the direction in which we are heading. Various economic data is presented, both current and projected, and it is asserted the nations, in which the world’s population is located, are close to the end of their evolution, and that the most likely, but least desirable, further evolution is in the direction of increasing global polarisation. This has its roots going back a couple of centuries, in the colonial expansion of the West, and is reflected today in the West’s determination to maintain its hegemonic position.]
