Quantum nonlinear oscillator, chaos and Wigner function

Quantum nonlinear oscillator, chaos and Wigner function We discuss the possibility of application of the Wigner function as an indicator of quantum chaos. As an example we consider the system comprising a nonlinear oscillator permanently perturbed by a series of ultrashort external pulses. We show, that non-classicality parameter based on the Wigner function can be applied as a tool for distinguishing between chaotic and regular regions of quantum systems. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Acta Physica Hungarica Series B, Quantum Electronics Springer Journals

Abstract

We discuss the possibility of application of the Wigner function as an indicator of quantum chaos. As an example we consider the system comprising a nonlinear oscillator permanently perturbed by a series of ultrashort external pulses. We show, that non-classicality parameter based on the Wigner function can be applied as a tool for distinguishing between chaotic and regular regions of quantum systems.
