Singular surfaces of order one in magnetogasdynamics

Singular surfaces of order one in magnetogasdynamics SummarySingular surfaces of order one in Magnetogasdynamics are discussed by applying the compatibility conditions due to Thomas. The propagation of the “transverse type” of singular surface is discussed at length, and an expression is obtained for the variation of its “strength”. It is shown that the strength of a plane transverse singular surface remains constant when moving in a uniform medium at rest. For propagation in a non-uniform medium the strength is, however, shown to vary and an expression is derived giving the variation. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Applied Scientific Research, Section B Springer Journals

Abstract

SummarySingular surfaces of order one in Magnetogasdynamics are discussed by applying the compatibility conditions due to Thomas.
